Front Sight has the finest training facilities and target systems available in the world today. They also have some of the best instructors to be found anywhere. They offer classes in Defensive Handgun, Handgun Combat Master, Tactical Shotgun, Practical Rifle, Advanced Tactics Handgun and Submachine Gun.

Front Sight was founded by Dr. Ignatius Piazza. Dr. Piazza trained under Col. Jeff Cooper, founder of Gunsite (formerly known as the American Pistol Institute), under Massad Ayoob at the Lethal Force Institute, and at Clint Smith’s Thunder Ranch. After years of training and perseverance, he became the second person in the world to secure a Four Weapons Combat Master Certificate.

Front Sight originally held courses in Bakersfield, CA. Due to increasingly constrictive gun laws in California, Dr. Piazza decided to build a training facility just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. Courses are still offered in Bakersfield, but most of the curriculum is being moved to this new site.

The new 550 acre facility, just 45 minutes from the Las Vegas strip, is being built in phases. It is already fully operational; even with Phase I only partially completed, it already offers the best training facilities and target systems in the world.

Included in this facility will be 6,000 square feet of classroom; 7,200 square-foot gunsmith facility and armory; pro shop; 5,000 square-foot video training simulator building with the latest video simulator systems; 12 shooting ranges from 25-150 yards; 400-yard rifle range; nine 360-degree live-fire simulators; Summunitions, underground training simulator with over 300 yards of tunnels; five story SWAT tower; defensive driving track; and much, much more.

Well, it isn’t just the facility, although that helps. One of Dr. Piazza’s primary areas of focus during his own training was to learn what makes a great curriculum and, most importantly, what makes a world-class instructor.

Two-Day Defensive Handgun. This is an entry-level course held on weekends. It is perfect for the first-time gun owner, or anyone who wants to get a jumpstart on their training. Cost is $1,000.
Four-Day Defensive Handgun. For private citizens, law enforcement and military personnel who want a complete understanding of the handgun. Covers loading & unloading, grip, stance, sight alignment and picture, and trigger control; presentation from the ready, holster and concealed carry, and more. Cost is $2,000.
Two-Day Handgun Skill Builder. A weekend follow up class for students who have completed the Two-Day or Four-Day Defensive Handgun course and want to improve their skills before moving on to Advanced Tactical Handgun or Master Prep. Cost is $1,000.
Two-Day Advanced Tactical Handgun. A weekend course open only to graduates of Four-Day Defensive Handgun or Handgun Skill Builder. Cost is $1,000.
Handgun Combat Master Prep. A four-day course open to all students who hold a Four Day Handgun or Two Day Skill Builder completion Certificate and who want to master the handgun. Cost is $2,000.
Two-Day Tactical Shotgun. Entry-level weekend course designed to help anyone learn the basic Tactical use of the shotgun. Cost is $1,000.
Four-Day Tactical Shotgun. A comprehensive course in the tactical use of the shotgun, for private citizens, military and law enforcement personnel alike. Covers loading and unloading, malfunction clearance, proper sling carry, presentation, rapid assumption of various positions, target engagement from 7 to 50 meters under time pressure, multiple target engagement under time pressure, hostage rescue and more. Cost is $2,000.
Two-Day Practical Rifle. Entry-level weekend course to provide practical rifle skills to rapidly acquire and hit a target out to 200 yards. Cost is $1,000.
Four-Day Practical Rifle. A comprehensive course in the practical use of the rifle designed for military and law enforcement personnel as well as private citizens. Students learn how to most efficiently assume multiple shooting positions to rapidly make first round hits out to 400 yards. Cost is $2,000.
